Expert opinion
: The double jointed Verdun bit is a soft bit ideal for young horses. The D-rings will allow an excellent lateral framing and a more direct contact of the hand towards the mouth as well as a very light leverage. This leverage is achieved because the space between the snaffle post and the rein is greater than on an olive ring or a loose ring. The high quality resin of the Nathe brand encourages horses to salivate. The soft bit will curve and distribute the pressure in the mouth on the tongue, bars and mouthguards. Unlike the single bit, which acts on the palate, the double bit acts on the tongue. It's important to remember that a horse's palate is a sensitive area that must not be neglected. It can be recommended for horses that are relatively easy in the mouth, not very sensitive on the palate or with a hollow palate.
Material
Material : Made in Germany, Nathe bits are made of a high quality anti-allergenic thermoplastic. They are manufactured without the use of chemical substances or solvents. Thanks to their smooth surface, Nathe bits avoid the risk of overheating in the horse's mouth. They are reinforced with a cable which ensures the solidity of the bit. The resin bits remain at room temperature and offer a soft and relaxing contact.
Caution : This material is vulnerable and is not guaranteed by the manufacturer against wear and tear due to biting. We strongly advise against using a bit that is too damaged, as this could injure the horse's bars, tongue and palate.
