Expert opinion
: The "Relaxed Performance" bit with straight tongue is an innovative bit that is halfway between the fixed bit and the swivel bit. It combines a tongue passage with a cushioned leverage action thanks to the flexing of its upper leg. This bit allows to dissociate the leverage action on the neck and on the curb chain from the pressure exerted in the mouth and especially on the tongue. It is very interesting for horses with a sensitive neck and/or with little space in the mouth (thick tongue). Its leverage action can vary according to the size of its branches, the location of the reins and the adjustment of the curb chain. The curb chain allows you to vary the intensity of the bit.
> It is advisable to use chain guards for sensitive horses.
BARREL THICKNESS
*Unless mentioned in the options, the thickness of the barrel is :
Size (mm) | Barrel thickness (mm) |
< 115 | 12 |
115 - 130 | 14 |
> 130 | 16 |
Material
Sweet Iron : Sweet Iron alloy oxidizes upon contact with moisture in the mouth and air. The oxidation brings a sweet taste that naturally stimulates the production of saliva. This corresponds to the effect of a sugar that is given to the horse at the beginning of the session but allows to diffuse this sweet taste throughout the work. Therefore, this alloy allows a good acceptance of the bit and helps the horse to make contact with the mouthpiece. The oxidation modifies the aspect of the bit during the sessions.
