Noseband protectors are placed between the horse’s head and the noseband to distribute the pressure applied. They are intended to provide more comfort for the horse or, in some cases, prevent injuries. Their level of absorption depends on the materials used. The most common types are made of sheepskin, neoprene, foam, and gel. Their usefulness depends on the sensitivity of your horse. If your horse does not show any discomfort from the pressure of the noseband, it may not need one.
